With the teaching
of a second language becoming compulsory 2010, this is the time for
a non-specialist teacher to get a helping hand from me. Not only do
I go into Primary schools to teach up to year six students, but I also
advise non-specialist teachers on basic French teaching methods:
Teaching Methods - students
and teachers
In Primary schools I give children
a ‘flavour' of the French language which will be a fantastic basis for
future learning. Simple greetings, phrases, games and songs are introduced
through play. This encourages them to learn and comes as a release from
the classroom environment. As an advisor to the non-specialist teachers,
I give them the ability to learn how to introduce French to classes
for the years to come.

Empowering
Teachers
Glynis Rumley (MFL Advisory Service) has
introduced me to schools where I am empowering teachers with a second
language skill as well as giving the teacher's, already familiar with
French, other ideas to use in the classroom.
Interested...
Should your school be interested in having
some French tuition you should contact your MFL representative and see
if funding is available through the cluster. Alternatively, if you wish
your child to learn French on Tuesdays between 3.30 and 4.00pm at New
Ash Green Primary school (the school is opened to all children, no matter
which school they go to) fill in the form at the bottom of the page and
contact me for a start date. There may be two classes run depending on
age and ability.
If your child goes to any of the following schools and wants to start
learning French you will also need to fill in this form. Parents may need
to contact the school or myself for a start date:
St Joseph's
Catholic school, Holy Trinity Dartford, Vigo Primary School, Hartley Primary
School, Our Lady of Hartley Primary School, Fleetdown Primary and Infant
School, Shears Green Infant School and The Brent Primary School.
